NORMAN — Irmgard Ilse Timpson-Turner, 84, of Norman, known to friends and family as “Ann,” went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.
Graveside serviceswill be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements are by John M. Ireland Funeral Home of Moore.
Irmgard was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Breslau, Germany, and moved to America in 1948 to Providence, R.I., and then to Lawton where she lived until 1992.
She lived in Norman for the past 20 years. Irmgard enjoyed gardening, cooking, nature, her pets and family. She was an avid decorator, homemaker, a talented floral designer and served with many charitable organizations throughout her lifetime, such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and church charities.
She loved to travel around the United States. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Maria Kies; several brothers and sisters; her husband, MSgt. Maurice W. Timpson; husband, CW4 Aubrey “Al” Turner; and her loving sons, Fred Timpson and Kenneth Timpson.
She is survived by her children, Maria Kristina Turner of Oklahoma City, Carrie Rager of Indiana and Michael and Viola Turner of New Mexico; several grandchildren including, Christie Timpson, Chad Smith, Jonathon Turner, Katy Turner, Erika Rager and Jenna Rager; and several great-grandchildren.
