Lt. Col. Raphael ‘Ray’ Luke Reddington

NORMAN — Lt. Col. Raphael “Ray” Luke Reddington, U.S.A.F. Retired, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. He was born in the Bronx in New York City, the youngest of four boys.

There was a celebration of his life Sunday, Nov. 25.

He served in Vietnam and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, 11 Air Medals, the Expeditionary Medal, the RVN Gallantry Cross with palm device and several additional meritorious medals and campaign awards.

He is survived by his loving family, which includes five daughters, Darcy and husband Roger Henthorn, Margaret Cejda, Mary and husband Chuck Townsend, Diana Reddington and Christine and husband Dale Brown; 10 grandchildren, Katherine and husband Eric Bailey, Brian and wife Melissa Cejda, Angela Cejda, Christine and husband Jeff Hamilton, Paul Townsend, Sarah Townsend, Brenden Brown, Collin Brown, Christian Brown and Claire Henthorn; and two great grandchildren, Rowan and Caroline.

Lt Col. R. L. Reddington will receive full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements for Raphael are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
