The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — M.I. Neher, Jr., 82, of Norman, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

M.I. was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Oklahoma City at St. Anthony’s Hospital to M.I. and Ruby Neher.

Memorial services will be 10 p.m. Saturday at Primrose chapel.

His family lived in Thomas until he was 12 and then moved to Norman to live on a farm in the 10-mile flat area. M.I. graduated from Norman High School in 1948 and from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in industrial engineering.

M.I. married Patricia Joy Pierson, of Norman, on Aug. 26, 1951. They had two children, M.I. LeRoy Neher III and Barbara Marie Neher. M.I. was an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and a life-long member of the NRA and the American Institute of Industrial Engineering.

M.I. was preceded in death by his parents, M.I. and Ruby Neher; his brother, Bill; and his son, M.I. LeRoy Neher III.

M.I. is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Barbara; daughter-in-law, Shirley Neher and her children and grandchildren of Bakersfield, Calif.; brother-in-law, Tom Pierson and wife Elyse of San Carlos, Calif.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Norman Regional Hospital for the kind and compassionate care they gave M.I. during his stay there.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, P.O. Box 1413, Norman, OK 73070.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service, www.primrosefuneralservice.com.
