Ruby Marie (Clark) Adams

NORMAN — Ruby Marie (Clark) Adams, 93, passed from this life Thursday, Jan.10, 2013.

Services were 1 p.m. Monday at Lakeside Church of God, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Primrose Funeral Service.

Ruby was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Wynnewood to Elmer and Essie Clark. She married Melford Adams on Sept. 30, 1933, in Lindsay. Ruby and her husband farmed in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to Norman in 1955 and making their home here since then.

To this marriage were born two children: son, Kenneth, and daughter, Carolyn.

Ruby was a member of the Lakeside Church of God for 55 years and was known for being a lady of great faith. She had a ministry of helps that blessed many people. Ruby was blessed with the gift of hospitality. She could accommodate family and visitors alike. She was employed at the University of Oklahoma in food service for 27 years before she retired.

Ruby was an accomplished cook. People always enjoyed her meals and desserts. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed doing flower and vegetable gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, her parents, three sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Adams; a son, Kenneth Adams and wife Martha; two grandsons, Mark Adams and wife Cheryl and Scott Adams and wife Gayleen; three great-granddaughters, Kate and McKenzie Adams and Megan Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
