NORMAN — Wanda Grace Reed, 81, passd away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Private family services will be hosted Wednesday at Havenbrook Funeral chapel.

Wanda was born in Dow on Feb. 19, 1931, to Alvin and Ethel Pigg. She was raised in Dow and graduated from Haileyville High School in 1949. On April 6, 1950, she married Leon “Doc” Reed.

Wanda moved with her family to Norman to finish her degree in education at the University of Oklahoma in 1956. She taught fifth grade at Jackson and Cleveland elementary schools in Norman. After retirement, she spent much of her time traveling, painting, playing tennis, line dancing and enjoying her family. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church of Norman.

Wanda was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Thelma Powell, Lorene Gunter, James Paul Pigg and Betty McCloud.

Wanda is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Doc Reed; two daughters, Rita Henry and husband Jim of Moore and Lori Roberts of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; five grandchildren, Chad Henry, Craig Henry, Ayre Wilson, Brandt Wilson and Heather Roberts; and five great-grandchildren, Allie, Michael, Maddie, Isaiah and Wyatt Henry. Wanda is also survived by her sister, Mary Lee Wilkerson; brother, Bob Pigg and wife Mona; brother Clyde Pigg and wife Joanne, brother-in-law, Jess McCloud; sisters-in-law Gwen Reed and Edna Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman First Baptist Church Family Life Center or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are by Havenbrook Funeral Home.
