Doris Ann Theobald

NORMAN — Doris Ann Theobald, 73, of Norman, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, in the presence of her family and dear friends. Doris was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Charles Wesley Lea, and Rosemary Julia Lea.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman.

She graduated from Dormont High School in Dormont, Pa., in 1957.

She married Charles Richard Theobald on Nov. 28, 1963, who was active duty military serving with the U.S. Army. As such, there would be a great deal of traveling, living by the maxim “home is where the Army sends you.” She resided in California, Virginia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa and finally California again.

In retirement, she lived in Idaho prior to her arriving in Oklahoma in 2006.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son, Michael.

Doris was a career “stay at home mom,” placing the utmost importance on her family and especially her children.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughters Debbie and Julie (her husband David); her oldest son, Richard (his wife Sonja); her brother Charles (his wife Yoko), her grandchildren Amanda (her husband Samuel), Brandon, Andrew, Matthew, Alex, Justin and Jenna; as well as two great grandchildren, Tristan and Evey.

She will be laid to rest alongside her parents and son at the Singing Hills Memorial Park in El Cajon, CA at a later date.

Services are entrusted to Primrose Funeral Service.
