Marjorie A. ‘Marge’ Sewell

NORMAN — Marjorie A. “Marge” Sewell, 87, formerly of Norman, passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines, Iowa.

In agreement with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial service celebrating Marge’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Westchester Evangelical Free Church, located at 4919 Aurora Avenue, in Des Moines, Iowa. A private committal service will take place at a later date.

Marge was born on Sept. 26, 1925, in Bemidji, Minn. to Fred E. and Leola Inez (Parkinson) Warner. She was united in marriage to L.R. “Bud” Sewell and their marriage was blessed with two children.

Marge was a homemaker all of her life. She lived many years in Grand Rapids, Minn., Duluth, Minn. and Norman.

Marge was preceded into eternal life by her parents; three sisters; and husband, Bud Sewell.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Betty (Gary) Benedict of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, Bert (Evie) Sewell of Ankeny; five grandchildren, Keith (Shelynn) Benedict, Leslie (Ted) Klein, Ryan (Katie) Sewell, Wade (Melanie) Sewell and Brad (Jennie) Sewell; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to either:

The Benedict Scholarship Fund at Crown College, in St. Bonifacius, MN; or the Gideons.

The Iles Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel in Des Moines, is assisting the family with arrangements.
