Robert Melvin ‘Mel’ Daniels

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Robert Melvin “Mel” Daniels, age 71, of Norman, passed away Feb. 15, 2013. He was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Norman.

He was the owner and operator of D&D Cycle, in Norman for 30 years. Mel was also employed by the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, and retired in 2008.

He proudly served his country in the US Army and received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country when called upon to do so.

His first love was spending time with his wife Deborah and his sons. Mel is survived by two sons, Chris Daniels and wife, Jamie, of Norman and John Daniels, of Norman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mable Daniels; one brother, Ben; and his wife, Deborah. A Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St., Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore.
