Agnes Cox

NORMAN — Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Cox, age 94, of Norman, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 in The Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.

Agnes Belle Cox was born on Feb. 14, 1919 in Billings, Montana the daughter of Frank Leslie and Pearl Esther (Talcott) Hutchinson. She passed away on her 94th birthday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the South Park East Nursing Home in Oklahoma City.

Agnes taught in private schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico, often accepting a very modest salary. Teaching students was a passion she held close to her heart and because her husband had a lucrative career, she was able to focus on the blessings of her teaching career and not her salary.

While in Norman, Agnes was a member of the Newcomers Club and was a charter member of the Bridgeview United Methodist Church. Agnes was an incredible woman of faith, enjoying a very close and trustworthy relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In their retirement, Agnes and Otis enjoyed traveling the United States of America and visited Australia and New Zealand. Agnes also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Michael Cochran; one brother, Paul Hutchinson and his wife, Stefonie.

Survivors include her husband of more than 56 years, Otis Cox; two daughters, Cindy Blanton of Norman; and Audrey Akers and her husband, Steve of West Lafayette, Indiana; five grandchildren, Mike Cochran Jr., and his wife, Sue of Norman, Oklahoma, Barry Blanton of Norman, Oklahoma, Scott Blanton and his wife, Edrienne of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tiffany Ouelette and her husband, Paul of Hoover, Alabama, and John Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; eight great- grandchildren, Jenni Cochran, Michael Cochran, III, Codie Cochran, Reese Blanton, Taylor Blanton, Alexandria Ouelette, Bella Ouelette, and Kane Ouelette.

Burial will conclude in the Grandview Cemetery in Ft.Collins, Colorado on Friday, February 22, 2013.
