R. Eugene Pyle

NORMAN — R. Eugene Pyle, 76, of Norman died on Dec. 27, 2012 in Norman. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Primrose Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service.

Eugene was born on May 17, 1936 in Macomb, Okla. to Jesse Joe and Laura (Adams) Pyle. Eugene moved to Norman when he was 16 and has lived in Norman since. He married Clara Byrd on July 14, 1955 in Norman and they were married for more than 57 years.

Eugene was an entrepreneur starting his own contracting business, E&R Enterprises, Inc., in 1977. Specializing in residential contracting, the business today is run by his son, Ronnie. In business and as a father, he expected perfection. Eugene was a caring and loving man. He always was supportive and kind. A Pastor friend once told Clara “If the boys grow up and be like there daddy, they will be great men with a big heart.” Eugene liked to garden, fish and farm. They were members of The Lakeside Church of God since 1959.

Eugene is survived by his wife of the home; son Ronnie Pyle and his wife Debi of Norman; daughter, Ronda Brown and her husband David of Madill, Okla.; daughter, Sherry Senne of Noble; son, Kenneth Pyle and wife Carrie of Norman; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Harwell of Norman, Barbara Clark of Madison, WI and Carol Morrison of Norman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill Pyle, Oscar Pyle, Arthur Pyle and Raymond Adams and one sister, Ola Montgomery.
