NORMAN — Betty L. Spangler, 82, of Norman, died at home Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in Norman.

A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Primrose chapel.

Betty was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Harrisonburg, Va., to Martin L. and Alice (Curry) Wheeler. The family would soon move to Hanover, Pa., where she graduated high school. Betty was the youngest of 12 children.

Betty married Ronald L. Spangler on July 9, 1954, in Atlanta. They moved to York, Pa., in 1956. They moved to Norman in 1982 and have called Norman home since. Betty worked at Hancock Fabrics in Norman for 15 years. She would often have people come into the store asking specifically for her assistance and guidance.

Betty was a small woman with a big personality. Betty never met a stranger. She always talked to everyone and loved working with the public.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Spangler of Norman; son, Mark Spangler of York, Pa.; son, Brett Spangler of Norman; granddaughters Danielle Spangler of Berlin, Pa., Dakota Spangler of York, Pa., Kayla Spangler of Norman and Becca Spangler of Moore; one brother, Martin L. Wheeler Jr. and his wife Josephine of Hanover, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Shirley Wheeler of Hanover, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are entrusted to Primrose Funeral Service.
