NORMAN — Irene Russell, 97, a woman of faith and a longtime resident of Arbor House Reminisce Center went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012. Irene was born near Midway, Ark., and came to Oklahoma by covered wagon when she was 4 years old.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Mallory Chapel-Stigler, with Mrs. Edith Guthrie officiating.

Irene was raised on a farm just outside Stigler. At the age of 17, she married Carl M. Russell. She and Carl worked in the Tulsa area for many years. They moved back to Stigler when they retired. Stigler was always home.

Irene was a 53-year breast cancer survivor.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Laura Williamson of Houston, Texas, and Mary Ann Lovett and husband John and their son Rann of Norman.

Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Stigler.

Memorial contributions may be made to McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman.

Arrangement are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.
