NORMAN — Albert Rider, 53, of Norman passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 in Oklahoma City.
He was born into a military family on Feb. 6, 1959 to Richard Lonnie and Anna Marie (King) Rider in Oklahoma City.
Albert was raised in the Bethel Acres and Little Axe area. He was a 1977 graduate of Bethel High School and was a member of the Bethel FFA.
He married Jane Rogers on September 29, 2012 in Noble, Okla.
Albert was employed at Carmichael Electrical as a Manager and worked at Dayton Tire for 15 years.
He was a member of Faith Abundant Worship and was in charge of church visitation. Albert enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and his animals. He also enjoyed helping people including pulling people out of the snow, taking on side jobs, water skiing, air chair, snow skiing and going to garage sales and took great pride in finding bargains.
He also enjoyed hot rods and going to auctions.
Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Rider; grandmother, Bessie Rider; and uncles, Raymond Rider and Robert Rider.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Rider, of the home; daughter, Shawna Alvarez, of Okla. City and daughter and son-in-law, Misty and husband, Micah Vestal, of Yukon; son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Audra Rider, of Norman; grandchildren, Bryce Alvarez, Victoria Alvarez, Ariana Alvarez and Natalia Alvarez, all of Okla. City, Lane Rider, of Norman and Baby Vestal, of Yukon; two brothers, Norman Rider and family, of Noble and Cliff Rider and family, of Norman; step-children, Scotty Bagwell, of Choctaw and Sheila Beasley, of Okla. City; 12 step-grandchildren; and his children’s mother, Gail Rider, of Moore; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 and 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 and continue through time of service. Family will gather from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 12 Corners Baptist Church in Noble with Reverend Gayland Cannon of Faith Abundant Worship officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
