Noble students listed on college honor rolls

DURANT -- Undergraduate students who have achieved superior academic performance are recognized by Southeastern Oklahoma State University each semester by being named to the President's Honor Roll or the Dean's Honor Roll. Eligibility for the Dean's Honor Roll is as follows:

For a fall or spring semester, the student must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours of college-level courses with a 3.5 grade-point average and no grade lower than B.

Students from Noble listed on the Dean's Honor Roll are Roger D Carr, Bobbie Joann Hunter, Harold D Strawderman and Michael Scott Zimmerman.



STILLWATER -- A total of 3,971 students were named to the 2009 spring honor rolls at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, including 1,397 students who received all "A" grades and were named to the President's Honor Roll.

Full-time undergraduate students who completed 12 or more hours with a grade point average of 4.00 were placed on the President's Honor Roll. Students who completed 12 or more hours with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher with no grade below a "C" were placed on the Dean's Honor Roll.

Grades earned through correspondence classes may not be included in meeting the minimum enrollment or grade point average required for an honor roll.

Student names are listed by the towns they have designated as their hometowns. A complete in-state and out-of-state honor roll list is online at http://osu.okstate.edu/honorroll/

Listed on the Dean's Honor Roll is Noble student Jaclyn Danell Carson, a 2005 graduate of Noble High School.

  • Robber hits Noble bank NOBLE -- A man carrying a pistol and a device he claimed was a bomb robbed the First Fidelity Bank at 900 N. Main at about 12:30 p.m. Friday.

    A spokesman for the FBI said the device was not a bomb and there were no injuries reported.

  • Parking in Noble discussed by City Council The issue of parking in front of businesses along Main Street in Noble was discussed at a recent city council meeting. A merchant who has property along Main Street was concerned about the use of the angled parking frontage between Chestnut and Cherry streets, fearing area employees who parked there were taking up parking opportunities for customers.
