Day of Caring to kick off Friday

NORMAN — On Friday, the United Way of Norman will host its Day of Caring, an annual event where volunteers are matched with a social service agency to complete a project that will allow the agency to better serve the community.

The Day of Caring event will kick off 8 a.m. at Journey Church, 3801 Journey Parkway, with breakfast, pictures and a presentation. Volunteer groups will then go to the assigned agency to begin the project around 9 a.m.

Volunteers will continue working on the project and will be given a box lunch at the agency. Volunteers will complete the project between noon and 4 p.m., depending on the size of the project.
