NORMAN — Top entrant will be rewarded

Citizens of Blanchard will host a Veterans Day parade 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street.

The theme for this year’s celebration will be “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans.”

A Mayor’s Choice trophy will be awarded to the parade entrant judged best at representing this year’s theme. Maj. Gen. Rita A. Aragon also will participate in the parade.

Children 12 and under can compete for the best-decorated bicycle in the parade and a chance to win a new bicycle.

Other activities include a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., hosted by the Blanchard United Methodist Church.

A chili cook-off also will be hosted at Lions Park. Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted.
