NORMAN — The Center for Children and Families Inc., a nonprofit organization in Cleveland County, will host its 10th annual “I Love My Neighborhood” Block Party for families, residents and friends of the Wilson Elementary School neighborhood 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Activities will include free food, live music, activity booths, games and resources for families.

“This block party is a terrific opportunity for families in this neighborhood to get together,” said Katie Fitzgerald, executive director for CCFI. “We hope to provide parents and children a fun event where they can connect with each other and meet their neighbors.”

More than 500 people are expected to attend the block party, which also is co-hosted by Trinity Baptist Church and Wilson Elementary School.

The Center for Children and Families Inc. began its Neighborhood Centers program at Wilson Elementary School in 1998. The program provides enriching activities for nearly 350 youth during out-of-school time throughout the year. The program has expanded to include Kennedy Elementary School, Longfellow Middle School and Irving Middle School and is conducted in partnership with the Norman Public Schools and the City of Norman.
