A man struck by a train Saturday morning has not been positively identified by Moore police as of presstime, according to police spokesman Jeremy Lewis.
"A pedestrian was lying on the rails and the train struck the person," Moore Police Sgt. Greg Anderson said.
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Train conductor called the police department at about 6:03 a.m. to report the collision. Police arrived to find the white adult male dead, Anderson said.
He was lying on the tracks about 200 yards south of where the train tracks intersect with the 1000 block of Southwest 34th Street, Anderson said.
"There's no evidence whatsoever of foul play at this point," he said. There also was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, he said. The conductor didn't see any other people around the track at the time, Anderson said.
The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office where he will be identified if no one comes forward about a missing person, Anderson said.
This is the second train fatality in Moore this year. Moore resident Rosetta Lunday, 71, died after being struck on the tracks by a southbound train about 300 yards north of Main Street last March.
