Moore Norman Technology Center Board member Glen Cosper has been named President of the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers.
The Moore area Realtor and community leader will represent the board members and superintendents of Oklahoma's technology schools at quarterly board meetings and at special events sponsored by OATC and OkACTE. Cosper also will serve as a member of the executive committee of the CareerTech Administrative Council which oversees the operation of the office of the executive director of OkACTE and OATC.
Patrick McGregor, OkACTE executive director, said having leaders like Cosper "makes our work in Oklahoma very easy."
Cosper has been a board member in zone 5, office 5, of MNTC since 2005. He served as president of the Moore Norman Board in 2008-2009.
"Glen Cosper has truly helped the district thrive while serving on our board," said John Hunter, MNTC superintendent "His keen understanding of Oklahoma's educational system and of CareerTech has helped Moore Norman add new curriculum and training services that address vital needs of individuals and businesses within our community."
Prior to serving on this board, Cosper served two years on the Moore Public Schools Board of Education, and he is a member of the Moore Public Schools Foundation. Cosper also is a member of the South Oklahoma City Rotary Club and the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.
Cosper said he was honored to serve in this position and to serve the system he is so passionate about.
"During these tough economic times in Oklahoma our CareerTech system can be a valuable resource for training and retraining of our workforce and a pathway for furthering the Careers of thousand of young Oklahomans. I'm proud of OATC and OkACTE and look forward to working with Pat and his staff as we strive to keep our system and its resources in the forefront of turning Oklahoma around as we all struggle with the effects of this world recession."
