Forfeited property will be sold online

Forfeited property collected by the sheriff's office that is subject to public sale will be auctioned on Property Room.com Inc. County commissioners approved the contract at Monday's meeting.

Weapons is not part of the agreement and will not be sold on the Web site.

A 1994 van used by the Crossroads Youth -- Family Services will be junked and office equipment and computer equipment from the treasurer's office that was sold at auction in May was cleared from the books.

Commissioners accepted bids for bridge materials and may award later, awarded road oils and table bids for roof repairs at the Alan J. Couch Center.

They also tabled the 2010 Census Partner Resolution and Agreement for Cleveland County.

At the justice authority meeting, commissioners approved the employment of Tammy Nelson to keep the authority's books and records.

They are testing the soil at the new jail site, Franklin Road and 24th Avenue NW, for the compactness, board member Rusty Sullivan said.

"We don't want to have a settling problem later," he said after the meeting.

Sullivan said a meeting was held to establish the chain of command between the justice authority, Rees, project manager, AIP Inc., architects, and Timberlake Construction Co.

    She said about 20 auditorium seats were damaged by the fire and many others received smoke and water damage.
