A former Moore resident became the 4,094 casualty of the Iraq war.
The U.S. Department of Defense said Army Sgt. 1st Class David Raymond Hurst was killed Saturday in Baghdad when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.
Military officials records list Hurst from Fort Sill, however, the Associated Press reported Hurst as a former resident of Moore.
Hurst was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), which is located at Fort Polk, La.
He was serving his second stint in the Army.
Hurst first joined the Army in March 1995 and was honorably discharged in June 1998. He returned to active duty in August 1999. Among the awards he received from the military were a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
According to an Associated Press count, as of Monday, at least 4,094 members of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.
Hurst is believed to be the 67th Oklahoma resident to have died during the conflict.

Changes made to big trash services
Changes have been made to the big trash pick up service which should make the pick up easier for both residents and city workers.
Residents who have Monday trash service will have big trash pick up in the months of March, July and November; Tuesday trash service will be April, August and December; Thursday is January, May and September and Friday is February, June and October. -
