Willoughbys to celebrate 50 years

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Jeff D. and Catherine B. (Gill) Willoughby will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception.

Catherine graduated from Norman High in 1962. Jeff and Catherine were married on March 16, 1963, in Norman. They raised three children, Jeffrey of Chickasha, Karen of Chickasha, and Chris of Wynne, Ark. They have five grandchildren: Sarah, Rebekah, Joseph, Jacob and Granger.

Jeff and Catherine resided in Oklahoma City for 10 years before moving to their current home in Grady County. Jeff worked at Southwest Electric for 23 years before leaving in 1986 to start his own business, Union Hill Electric. Jeff and Catherine started the electric motor repair business together with a lot of hard work, strength, determination and the same strong commitment and honesty they put into their marriage. This, and a lot of help from God, has made their marriage and business successful. Catherine retired from the business in 2006 and Jeff is semi-retired.

Both remain socially active, have begun taking trips around the United States and Canada, and enjoy spending time with friends and family. Jeff also farms while Catherine enjoys several creative projects.

The couple will celebrate their anniversary with a come-and-go reception from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Chickasha, 202 S. 6th St.
