Ketners to celebrate 59th anniversary

NORMAN — Carl and Loretta (Murphy) Ketner, of Norman, will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Wednesday.

Carl met Loretta while working for her father in the summer of 1953. The couple exchanged wedding vows Feb. 6, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Washington.

The Ketner’s lived in Kansas for a short while after they were married and then returned to Fort Sill. They have lived in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico while Carl was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration before retiring in Oklahoma. The Ketners have lived in Cleveland County for 25 years.

Carl was in the Army from 1954-1956. He was an FAA technician, engineer, instructor and area manager for 30 years. He retired from the FAA in 1988. He was an instructor for the FAA after his retirement from 1988-1998.

Loretta is a dedicated housewife and mother.

The Ketner’s are members of the First Baptist Church in Norman.

Carl enjoys reading and playing dominoes. Loretta’s hobbies are sewing, flower gardening and cooking. They both enjoy Bible studies with friends in their home.

The couple’s children include Carl and Pam Ketner, of Norman, Mike and Jana Ketner, of Alabama, and the late Lesa Kay Ketner. They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
