The Norman Transcript
Norman — Kristy Amrein of Norman and Matthew Weakly of Centralia, Ill., were married Aug. 15, 2009, at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City. The evening ceremony took place outdoors on the formal lawn near the gazebo and surrounding gardens.
The bride is the daughter of Curtis and Lanelle Amrein, Norman.
The groom is the son of Thomas and Joan Weakly, Norman.
The bride chose a strapless, sweetheart neckline, diamond white, fit and flare dress adorned with an ivory lace overlay, crystal beading and semi-cathedral train. The dress had a mocha silk ribbon tied at the waist and was accented with a brooch. The fingertip-length veil was lined with crystal embellishments.
She carried a clutch bouquet of ivory/blush roses and green cymbidium orchids with accents of green hypercium berries hand-tied with ivory satin.
The Rev. Joe Grizzle officiated the ceremony.
During the ceremony soloist/guitarist Cody Dunbar performed “Divine Romance” by Phil Wickham, and “This Ring” by T. Carter Music.
The maid of honor was Amie Herndon of Oklahoma City.
Bridesmaids were Tanya Shipley of Chicago and Jennifer Lea of Norman.
The best man was Mike Amend of Austin, Texas.
Groomsmen were Randy Weakly of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Shane Amrein of Norman.
Ushers were Chad and Dylan Amrein of Norman.
The flower girl, Mady Shipley, daughter of Rick and Tanya Shipley of Chicago. Their son Tyler Shipley served as the ring bearer.
Guest book attendants were Christie Weakly of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ally Shipley of Chicago.
A reception followed at the Gaillardia Country Club ballroom.
The couple left the following Monday for a two-week honeymoon, visiting Rome, Venice and Paris.
The Weaklys have established a home in Fort Mill, S.C.
