The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Lacey Laurel Matthews of Tulsa, formerly of Norman, and Ryan Paul Vogts of Tulsa, formerly Girard, Kan., exchanged wedding vows on June 9 in an outdoor wedding ceremony at the Silo Event Center in Tulsa.

The bride is the daughter of Lloyd and Angie Matthews, Norman. She is a 2000 graduate of Norman North and 2004 graduate of Boston University. She is a 2012 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following the nuptials, the bride began her residency in emergency medicine at Kent County Hospital in Warwick, R.I.

The groom is the son of Randy and Penny Vogts, Girard. He is the grandson of Beverly Tustin, Pittsburg, Kan., and Thelma Vogts, Girard. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Kansas State and was employed as a construction superintendent by Oakridge Builders in Tulsa. The groom has recently joined the staff of Jewett Construction of Raymond, N.H., as a construction superintendent.

Blythe Benson, Norman, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids included Christina Elmore, Portland, Ore., Abbey Jones, sister of the groom, Lawrence, Kan., Katie Shepherd, Tulsa, Delia Silva, Baltimore, M.D., and Annie Sutton, Tulsa.

Rylee Jones, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

Matt Jones of Lawrence, and brother-in-law to the groom, was the best man.

The brothers of the bride served as groomsmen, Chris Matthews, Tulsa, Luke Matthews, Dallas, and Gabe Matthews of Norman. Other groomsmen were Cody Elnicki, Girard, Brandon Lallemand, Girard, and Jonathan Mein of Concord, N.C.

Ring bearer was Henry Oberst of Norman.

Ushers were Thad Eiland, Tulsa, and Chad Frakes, San Diego, Calif.

Luke Matthews played guitar and Gabe Matthews accompanied him with hand drums.

A reception immediately followed the ceremony.

The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia. They currently make their home in Cranston, R.I.
