Murphy, Hoffmann

NORMAN — Laurel Elizabeth Murphy and Scott Hoffmann, both of Portland, Ore., exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 19, 2012, on the beach of Doe Bay Resort, Orcas Island, Wash. Serving as officiant was Sandy Playa.

The bride is the daughter of Brendan and Cathy Murphy, Norman. She is a 2004 graduate of Norman High. She graduated in 2008 from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor of arts degree in public health. She is attending medical school at Oregon Health and Sciences University.

The groom is the son of John and Judy Hoffmann, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He is a 2003 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, Cuyahoga Falls. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2007 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He graduated from Brown University in 2010 with a master of science degree in engineering. He is employed by Oregon Health and Sciences University.

Music provided during the ceremony was by Carl Playa.

The bride wore her maternal grandmother’s ivory silk satin wedding gown also worn by her mother. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and lace capped sleeves. She wore a double strand of pearls that belong to her grandmother. She wore ivory dendrobium orchids in the back of her hair.

She carried a wildflower-style bouquet with green hypericum, soft pink garden roses, lavender larkspur, lavender alstromeria and light blue bella delphinium.

Maid of honor was Hailey Anne Murphy, sister of the bride, Dallas.

Bridesmaids were Megan Foradori, sister of the groom, Pittsburg, Pa., Amy Hoffmann, sister of the groom, Arlington, Va., and Lisa Hoffmann, sister of the groom, Chicago, Ill.

Best man was Pete Foradori, brother-in-law of the groom, Pittsburg.

Groomsmen were Michael Sapronetti, Arlington, and Chris Johnston, Dallas.

Flower girl was Emma Foradori, daughter of Pete and Megan Foradori.

A reception dinner was held following the ceremony at Doe Bay Cafe. Another reception was held Sept. 21, at the Norman Santa Fe Train Depot.
