NORMAN — Laura Shamorian married Will Gossin in a ceremony Aug. 19 at Rockefeller Chapel on the campus of the University of Chicago, with the Rev. Laura Hollinger Antonelli officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Carol and Vaughn Shamorian, of Gurnee, Ill. She is the granddaughter of Lillian Shamorian and the late Frank Shamorian and the late Florence and Thomas Parker. She is an alumna of Miami University of Ohio and recently received her master’s degree from Northwestern University.
The groom is the son of Dr. Victor Wilson and professor Pamela Gossin, of Norman. He is the grandson of Jan and John Gossin and Margo and Thom Wilson. He is a graduate of Norman North High School (2001) and Wake Forest University. He has a master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Chicago.
Walked down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a strapless modified mermaid lace gown in ivory by Enzoani. The hand-tied organic bouquet showcased pomegranate roses embedded in green hypericum and cymbidiums with Picasso mini-callas.
The bridesmaids wore pomegranate colored dresses of two styles — halter and single-shoulder. The matron of honor was Emily Petway, friend of the bride, of Gurnee.
The bridesmaids were friends of the bride Rachel Stacey of Naperville, Ill., Lisa McFarland of Gross Point, Mich., Holly McGail of Alexandria, Va., and Olivia Gossin Wilson, sister of the groom, of Norman.
The best man was Christian Gossin Wilson, brother of the groom.
The groomsmen were friends of the groom Muhammad Abdullah of Winston-Salem, N.C., Wes Davila of Atlanta, Ga., Darrin Gamradt of Charlotte, N.C., Lee Howell of Washington, D.C., and Kyle Shamorian, brother of the bride, of Gurnee.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Spiaggia in downtown Chicago overlooking Lake Michigan. The couple honeymooned in France, visiting Paris and hiking the Alps.
They are making their home in Chicago, where Laura is building a practice in marriage and family therapy and Will works for the University of Chicago.
