Oberlin, Knapp exchange wedding vows

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Melanie Oberlin and Chuck Knapp exchanged wedding vows on July 7, 2012, in the garden of the Taylor Mansion in Columbus, Ohio. Shelly Webb, of Baltimore, M.D., officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mel Oberlin of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Toni Robinson of Mars Hill, N.C.

The groom is the son of Dr. Roy and Judi Knapp of Norman.

The bride fashioned her own gown of ivory silks and carried a bouquet of brightly colored summer flowers.

The groom wore full formal kilt attire with his Irish Young family tartan.

Matron of honor was Heather Madigan, of Huffman, Texas.

Bridesmaids were Angela Liu and Emily Meister, both of Columbus.

Best man was Stan Vlasimsky, of Dallas.

Groomsmen were Christopher Bird, of Chicago, Ill., and Dr. Randy Eisel, of Naples, Fla.

Junior bridesmaids were Maggie and Claudia Vlasimsky, of Dallas, and Ciara Madigan, of Huffman.

Ushers were brothers of the bride, Adam Oberlin, of Columbus, and Matt Oberlin, of Marshall, N.C., and brothers of the groom, Dr. Mike Knapp, of Edmond, and Rich Knapp, of Norman.  

Casey Ritchie Williams, of Bartlesville, and Lauren Eiter, of Columbus, read Biblical and literary selections.

An Ohio State University string trio provided traditional classical wedding music.

A reception with dinner and dancing followed in the gardens of the Taylor Mansion.

The bride and groom have established their home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
