NORMAN — Julia Mancini and Reynolds Whalen, both of Bloomington, Ind., will exchange wedding vows on Oct. 6 St. Alban’s School Little Sanctuary, National Cathedral, in Washington, D.C.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Cynthia Mancini, of Washington, D.C. She graduated in 2003 from the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. She went on to Washington University in St. Louis, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in women, gender and sexuality studies in 2008. She is currently attending Indiana University, where she will obtain her Master of Fine Arts in costume design. She is a graduate assistant at Indiana University.
The future groom is the son of Logan and Sandra Whalen, of Norman. He is a 2004 graduate of Norman High School and graduated summa cum laude in 2008 from Washington University with a Bachelor of the Arts in drama and African and African American studies. In 2001, he received a master of science in education from Hunter College in New York City. He is currently attending Indiana University, where he will obtain his Master of the Arts in African studies. He is employed as the director of Performing Arts Abroad.
