Julia's Academy of International Dance, 315 W. Main St., will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The dance studio is led by Russian ballerina Yulia Zhmutski. The ribbon cutting is sponsored by the academy, the Norman Chamber of Commerce, the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau, the City of Norman, the U.S.-Russia Civil Society Institute and New Ad Age International Group.
Julia's Academy of International Dance teaches ballet, pointe, pre-ballet, belly dance, modern dance, jazz, hip hop, ballroom and zumba. Julia's competitive dance companies will begin meeting in September. The academy also caters to people with physical limitations, intellectual challenges and raises scholarship money for its students.
