Motorcyclist injured in Highway 9 crash

Norman police are investigating a crash late Wednesday afternoon between a car and motorcycle on State Highway 9.

NPD Lt. Kyle Harris said police dispatchers were notified about the crash at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday. The wreck occurred on Highway 9 near 168th Avenue NE.

Harris said a preliminary investigation determined Ruedonna Wilkins, 54, of Norman, was driving a 2006 Buick Lucerne eastbound on Highway 9 when she turned left into the path of a westbound 2000 Kawasaki V75 motorcycle driven by Tony Craven, 38, of Noble.

Craven suffered serious injuries and was treated by EMSStat paramedics, Harris said. He was transported from the scene by Medi-Flight helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition.

OU Medical Center spokesperson Natalie Scott said Craven remained in critical condition Thursday morning.

Harris said the accident remains under investigation by Norman Police.
