After two weeks of questioning potential jurors, a jury was selected Friday in the case of a Norman man accused of gunning down his two sisters and another woman 2 1/2 years ago.
Cleveland County prosecutors have accused William Eugene Davis, 52, of shooting his two sisters Tami Link, 52, Sheila Ellis, 56, and Link's mother-in-law, Letannah Bishop, 87, at 1517 Oklahoma Ave. on Sept. 4, 2007.
Cleveland County First Assistant District Attorney David Brockman said a jury was seated just before noon Friday. Brockman was not sure if jury members had been sworn in.
Cleveland County District Judge Lori Walkley held jury selection inside her chambers.
According to Judge Walkley's office, opening arguments are scheduled to begin 9 a.m. Monday inside Walkley's courtroom at the Cleveland County Courthouse.
Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn and Assistant District Attorney Christy Miller are prosecuting Davis. Oklahoma Indigent Def-ense System attorneys Craig Cor-gan and G. Lynn Burch are serving as Davis' defense counsel.
Prosecutors charged Davis Sept. 6, 2007 with three counts of first-degree murder. Charges later were amended to include assault with intent to kill for threatening to harm Tami Link's husband, Joseph "Brent" Link.
The trial was slated to begin in May 2009, but Walkley continued the case because of new evidence that surfaced prior to opening arguments being heard.
Davis is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
