Wine festival honors Joe Lies

NORMAN — The Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will have their fifth annual wine and food festival at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in the church’s Education Building.

This year’s event has been named in honor of Joe Lies, owner of Joe’s Place, who died in December. It is now called the Joe Lies Memorial Wine and Food Festival. All proceeds will fund church and community service projects in Norman.

The event features local wineries and restaurants serving samples of their products. Each attendee will receive a commemorative wine glass. There will be door prizes, silent auction items and more. These include wine gift and food baskets, gift certificates and art prints.

Vendors attending are Native Spirits Winery in Norman, Canadian River Winery in Lexington, Legends Winery in Lindsay, Los Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant, Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant, Misal Bistro Indian Restaurant, Catering Creations and Tarahumara’s Mexican Cafe.

Tickets will be available starting at the Parish Office, 421 E. Acres St., in Norman or by calling 412-9195.

Prices are:

· Single — $20 advance or $25 at the door.

· Couples — $35 advance or $40 at the door.

· Table of six — $100 advance only.
