Man jailed on bank robbery charge

NORMAN — FBI and Norman Police located and arrested a Norman man who they believe robbed two Norman banks.

Leonardo Lamar Parks, 51, was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Oklahoma City, near Reno and Shartel Avenue. Parks was arrested without incident and transported to Grady County Jail in Chickasha.

He was arrested on charges related to the robbery of Communication Federal Credit Union, 300 12th Ave. SE. Parks will have an initial appearance in Federal Court today.

Parks is charged with the robbery in a criminal complaint filed Feb. 11 in United States District Court, Western District of Oklahoma.

He is also a suspect in Monday’s robbery of the Bank of Oklahoma branch inside the Homeland Grocery Store at 2600 W. Robinson St.

The arrest is a joint investigation by Norman police, OU police, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.
