NORMAN — Cleveland County’s unemployment rate increased from 6 percent to 6.2 percent last month, state officials said Wednesday.
McCurtain County in far southeastern Oklahoma posted the state’s highest county unemployment rate of 11.3 percent. Beaver County held onto the state’s lowest county rate at 3.7 percent for the month.
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission said Cleveland County had a labor force of 114,440 and 7,530 unemployed persons. The June 2009 unemployment rate for Cleveland County was 5.9 percent.
