NORMAN — A house totally consumed by fire developed into about a half-acre grass fire Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland County.
Little Axe Fire Chief Al Snyder said the house was vacant and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Snyder said when Norman firefighters arrived on the scene, the home, on the 18000 block of Big Jim Road, was totally involved.
“Their main concern was the surrounding area to stop the grass fire to keep it from spreading,” he said.
About 10 fire apparatus were on scene to control the fire. Those who responded included Little Axe, Norman, Cedar Country and Slaughterville.
