NORMAN — Eide Bailly LLP, regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm with offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Norman, has announced several staff promotions in the firm’s Oklahoma offices. New Promotions: Oklahoma City office promotions include Sherry Schmitt Collins, senior manager; Paul Burke, audit manager; Leslie Riley, audit manager; Lauren Kelso, audit senior associate. Tulsa Office promotions include Carla Caughron, audit senior associate; Will Harrell, audit senior associate; April Campbell, lead administrator. The Norman office has promoted Paula Hansen to lead administrator.
Sooner Maid, in business in Norman for the past 13 years, has added professional carpet cleaning to its list of services.
To move the expansion along, the company has hired Jared Moore as its new marketing director.
Company spokesman John Ritchie said Sooner Maid is doing well and growing despite the recession, boasting about 5,000 customers in a 35-mile radius.
Jeff Miles, a banking officer and banking center support coordinator with Republic Bank and Trust, was recently named Spotlight Trainer of the Month by TRC Interactive.
Miles, who has been with RBT for eight years, was featured in their monthly e-newsletter in July for his dedication and focus on training.
TRC Interactive provides training services to financial service industries across the nation.
Jeff Pilkington of Republic Investment Services, Inc. in Norman, recently attended focus10, a leading financial services industry conference hosted by LPL Financial, an independent broker-dealer.
The conference, held July 28-31 in Boston, is one of the industry’s largest gatherings of independent financial advisers, and remains the industry’s premier sales and education event.
About 4,500 attendees from around the country assembled for the opportunity to learn new strategies and skills, expand knowledge in numerous product areas and network with peers and industry experts. They also heard from influential speakers who addressed current events and financial industry trends, including former President Bill Clinton and Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric.
Through the hundreds of business sessions, technology training sessions and continuing education classes at the event, LPL Financial advisers gained valuable knowledge to help them continually improve the service they offer to clients and operate their independent practices more efficiently.
The College for Financial Planning in Denver recently announced that Norman resident Margaret “Peggy” Doviak, Ph.D., CFP, has successfully completed the master of science degree program in financial analysis, the highest degree available from the College for Financial Planning.
A certified financial planner, Doviak is president of D.M. Wealth Management, Inc. and serves on the board of the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education. She is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
The master’s curriculum focuses on components of equity (stock) analysis, debt (bond) analysis, derivatives analysis, financial statement analysis, economics and portfolio construction.
