Part of Rock Creek Road to close for reconstruction

Transcript Staff

Depending on the weather, reconstruction of Rock Creek Road from Porter Avenue to Queenston Avenue will begin Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, with an expected completion date in September 2010.

Crews will begin work by closing Rock Creek Road from Sequoyah Trail to Wildwood Lane in order to build a new box culvert at the creek crossing.

Signs will be placed to detour the traveling public around the construction area using Tecumseh Road.

Additional questions may be directed to City of Norman Capital Projects Engineer John Clink at 366-5424.

Trash pick-up rescheduled for today

Due to the inclement weather last week, the City of Norman sanitation crews were not able to provide solid waste pick up for every scheduled area.

The Sanitation Division will return today to last Thursday's and Friday's routes that were missed to collect waste.

Due to the condition of side roads, sanitation routes that are east of 48th Avenue and not located on major roadways may not be serviced until later in the week.

Crews will not be collecting any yard waste this week.

Anyone with any questions is asked to call the sanitation offices at 329-1023.
