Several citizens filed declarations of candidacy Monday for school board seats in the area.
Filing will remain open at the Cleveland County Election Board, 641 E. Robinson St., Suite 200, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday.
Norman Public Schools Board of Education President Linda Sexton, 702 Morningside Dr., was the only person to file for her seat No. 5 Monday. The position is a five-year term.
Glen Cosper, 2024 SW 31st in Moore, filed for candidacy in office No. 5 of the Moore Norman Technology Center No. 17. The position is a five-year term.
Ronnie Beason, 19900 SE 180th in Wanette, filed for office No. 5 of Lexington Public Schools. The position is a five-year term.
Kandy Milette, 120 Parkcrest Ct. in Noble, filed for office No. 2 of Noble Public Schools. The position is a two-year term.
Kim Adams, 7250 High Meadow in Noble, filed for office No. 5 of Noble Public Schools. The position is a five-year term.
Jim Gard, 19001 E. Tecumseh Road in Newalla, filed for office No. 5 of Little Axe Public Schools. The position is a five-year term.
No one filed for the two offices of the Moore Public Schools Board of Education. Office No. 3 is a three-year term and office No. 5 is a five-year term. No one filed for the three-year term of office No. 3 of Robin Hill School District.
Voters will decide the school board candidates in an election Feb. 9, 2010.
