Local lawmakers to discuss budget cuts today

The Oklahoma Public Employees Association, together with local legislators, will host a special meeting today to address the loss of mental health services and job losses at local state agencies.

The meeting will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. today in the Lowry Room at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

State Reps. Scott Martin and Wallace Collins, and state Sen. John Sparks will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the budget shortfall Oklahoma is facing.

The meeting is open to the public and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend to find out how these cuts will affect them, according to OPEA.
