NOBLE -- A free Community Thanksgiving dinner will be held this Thursday at the Noble Public Library, 204 N. Fifth Street. Dinner is free and everyone in the community is welcome.
This is the second year that First State Bank of Noble has sponsored the dinner. Two dinner seatings are planned. The first is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and the second for 12:30 p.m.
In order to plan for food, guests are asked to stop by the bank at 102 N. Main St. to pick up admission tickets which designate a first or second seating and specify arrival times.
Kim King, chief executive officer of First State Bank in Noble said the bank is providing the food, which will be prepared and served by employees and friends of the bank. The menu includes turkey and traditional trimmings with pumpkin pie for dessert.
King said about 150 people attended last year's dinner. This year she expects about 200 guests, stating that the event is more than an opportunity for those who can't afford a hearty Thanksgiving dinner to be able to share one, it's also an occasion for anyone who enjoys the fellowship of eating with others.
"We're looking forward to it. The community has done so much for us and we're happy to give back," King said.
Volunteers who wish to help may call Arelene Perry at the Norman branch, 329-7600. For tickets and other information, call the Noble branch at 872-3434.
