Newcastle man charged with rape

A Newcastle man faces felony charges after he was accused of touching a 6-year-old girl inappropriately, according to court papers.

Kasey Wise, 18, was charged Friday in Cleveland County District Court with rape by instrumentation?victim under 14 and lewd or indecent proposals or acts to child under 16.

According to a court affidavit filed with the charges, the alleged incident happened Oct. 13 at a residence in Norman. Norman police began their investigation when they learned about the accusations a day later.

During a forensic interview, the girl told investigators that Wise touched her inappropriately as they watched a movie in her brother's bedroom, the affidavit stated.

Police interviewed Wise about the allegations Oct. 30 at the Norman Police Department, according to the affidavit. Wise admitted to police that he had touched the girl at least twice.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department, Wise was not listed as an inmate at the Cleveland County Detention Center. There was no indication if an arrest warrant had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
