A Lexington woman was critically injured Wednesday evening after she turned in front of an oncoming pickup on Slaughterville Road, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report shows.
Mary Krizmanich, 54, was pinned in her car for nearly an hour before she was freed by first responders. Noble EMS transported Krizmanich to Norman Regional Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition with internal and leg injuries, the report shows.
OHP said Krizmanich was eastbound on Slaughterville Road a quarter mile east of 180th Avenue when she tried to turn into a private drive on top of a hill. As she made the left turn, Krizmanich's car was struck by a pickup driven by Wanette resident Steven Massey, 40, who was westbound on Slaughterville Road.
Massey also was taken to NRH where he was treated and released.
The report lists "improper turn" as the cause of the accident and shows that both Krizmanich and Massey were wearing seat belts.
