Norman High School student congress members are gearing up to host their state convention this weekend.
The 69th annual Oklahoma Association of Student Councils convention will be Saturday through Monday in Norman. About 1,500 student leaders from across the state will converge on Norman for the event.
The members of NHS student congress were successful in finding enough local homes to host students coming in from out of town who are not staying in hotels, said Sarah Hartley, OASC secretary and NHS junior.
"We're filling up name tags and registrations right now," she said.
The convention will feature four general sessions, a mixer Saturday night, workshops Sunday and a banquet and dance Sunday night. Most events will take place at NHS, she said.
