The Norman Children's Chorus and the University Chamber Singers will present their Fall Concert 7 p.m. Monday at the University of Oklahoma's Catlett Music Center.
The public is invited and admission is free.
The children's chorus is open to students in grades three through eight and is comprised of students from more than 20 schools.
The chorus will open with selections from its repertoire of international folk songs and classical children's repertoire.
Sandy Knudson, music teacher at Adams Elementary School and Kodaly specialist, is the conductor and artistic director. The associate conductor is Leah Nellis, McKinley Elementary School music teacher. Beth Grimmett Tankersly and Micci Underwood are accompanists.
The University Chamber Singers is comprised of 19 men and women and performs a variety of music. The chamber will begin its portion of the program with "Walking on the Green Grass" by Michael Hennagin, a former professor of composition at OU.
The group will then perform "Ubi Caritas." Followed by an arrangement of six songs titled "Prayers from the Ark" by Ivor R. Davies. Each song is a prayer from Noah.
The final selection will feature four original compositions and arrangements of Jamaican songs by Andrew Marshall, assistant conductor of the chamber and OU doctoral student.
