NEW: Newcastle schoolkids get swine flu vaccinations

NEWCASTLE, Okla. (AP) -- First-grade students at Newcastle Elementary School are receiving the first doses of the swine vaccination.

Students at the suburban Oklahoma City district began getting the FluMist nasal spray vaccinations about noon Wednesday.

Most winced and expressed relief they weren't getting shots. The state received 21,000 doses of the spray.

The doses were distributed to regional health districts across the state based on population.

Health officials are recommending school-age children be among the first to receive the vaccination.

The state expects another 44,000 doses next week, including some of the injectable variety.
