NORMAN — A new reading loft in the Hubbard Elementary School library was dedicated to student readers during a recent ribbon cutting ceremony. The loft features a puppet theatre and comfortable seating areas where students can read.
“This beautiful addition to the Hubbard Library will be enjoyed by students for years to come,” said Jennifer Fourcade, Hubbard's Library Media Specialist.
The Hubbard library was expanded using funds from recent School Improvement bonds.
The new library is double the size of the old one and has been completely updated, including new shelving, a study area, 14 computer stations, and a technology resource room as well as a teacher resource room.
Dirk Marley of Aztec Building Systems, Inc. and master carpenters Eduardo Escobar and Enrique DeLuna donated their skills, time and materials to completely remodel and update the loft for Hubbard students.
