Shannon Abbott, a seventh-grader at Norman's Whittier Middle School, is one of 13 middle school students from across the state who have been accepted to take part in Oklahoma Science Adventure 2009, a week-long summer field program hosted by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Participants were selected from more than 100 applicants statewide. The hands-on program is designed give middle school students an opportunity to experience the life of working scientists and to answer he question "what is science?"
