Concealed handgun course opens


A concealed handgun course sponsored by the City of Nomran will meet 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 20 and Jan. 21 and 9 a.m. Jan. 24/

The Tuesday and Wednesday night sessions will be at the Little Axe Community Center, 1000 168th Ave. NE. The Saturday session will be at the instructor's range in Bethel. A map will be provided.

Participants must attend all three sessions. Course cost is $60. Applicants are responsible for the OSBI application fees of $25 for fingerprinting and $100 application fee. Renewal fees are $85 every five years.

Participants are responsible for providing their own handgun (.45 caliber or smaller); 50 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloads-commercial or otherwise); a baseball-type cap or hat with brim or bill; and eye and ear protection.

Officials said the course is limited to the first 20 paid applicants. Checks are to be made payable to Warren Boles, and participants may pay in person at either the Little Axe Community Center or the City of Norman Parks and Recreation office.
