PURCELL -- The board of directors for McClain County issued a county-wide burn ban Thursday.
The ban is effective immediately will continue for seven days, said Edward Cravens, director of McClain County Emergency Management. The ban applies only to open fires.
People who need to weld outdoors are reminded to take all precautions, such as ground blanket, fire extenguisher, water and removal of vegetation in the area prior to welding.
